From Figure 1, it shows the click-through-rate of results, and it evidently that  1 out of 3 people who arrive on the search page instinctively click on the 1st positioned result (for both desktop and mobile pages).

As the search engine result position (SERP) goes lower, so does the click through rate. And this is just page 1. If your company’s website falls on the 2nd or 3rd pages and beyond, you will lose out to other companies who rank higher than you.
